Itinerary

DAY 01: CAIRO

Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight accommodation. We recommend a night tour to witness the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza (not included). Cairo, the capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa and the Arab world, is known as the "mother of all cities" and the "city of a thousand minarets" to Egyptians.

Today, Cairo is a vibrant city that serves as an open-air museum, featuring a fascinating blend of ancient and modern architecture, and offering a cosmopolitan atmosphere of diverse cultures and people, showcasing the heritage of various civilizations.

DAY 02: CAIRO

After breakfast at the hotel, the tour will begin with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses an extensive collection of art and culture spanning 5,000 years. With more than 2,500 authentic artifacts on display, including statues, vases, mummies, jewelry, and the renowned treasures of Tutankhamun (admission to the Mummies room not included), the museum provides a fascinating insight into Egypt's ancient history. Next, we will explore the iconic Pyramids of Giza - Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure (entry to the interior of the pyramids not included). Among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Cheops is the largest pyramid still standing today. Nearby, the Sphinx - a colossal funerary complex guarded by the mythical creature with a human head (Pharaoh Khafre) - adds to the archaeological site's significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, we will return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo.

DAY 03:CAIRO – ASWAN – ABU SIMBEL - ASWAN

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport to catch a flight to Aswan (economy class air ticket included). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Abu Simbel, an impressive archaeological complex consisting of two temples carved into rock. Located on the west bank of the Nile River in Nubia, about 300 kilometers from Aswan, Abu Simbel was moved from its original location in the 1960s with the help of UNESCO to avoid being submerged by the Nile due to the construction of the Aswan dam. The temples were constructed by Pharaoh Ramses II to honor himself and his favorite wife, Nefertari. The Great Temple of Abu Simbel is one of the most well-preserved temples in all of Egypt. After the visit, you will be transferred back to Aswan to board the Nile River cruise. Dinner and overnight stay will be on board the cruise.

DAY 04: ASWAN – KOM OMBRO – EDFU (NILE RIVER CRUISE)

You will enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner on board the cruise ship as it navigates to Kom Ombo. There, you will have the opportunity to visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, which is the only temple in Egypt dedicated to two deities. One side of the temple is dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, who is associated with fertility and creation, while the other side is dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. Afterward, the cruise ship will arrive in Edfu, where you can visit the Temple of Horus, the falcon-headed god. This temple was partially buried by silt during the periodic flooding of the Nile, but it has been restored and is now considered one of the most beautiful temples from the Ptolemaic era. You will spend the night on board the cruise ship in Edfu.

DAY 05: EDFU – ESNA – LUXOR (NILE RIVER CRUISE)

Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner while cruising along the Nile River. Next, visit the Temple of Horus, which was partially covered by silt due to periodic flooding of the Nile in the past. After extensive rescue and restoration work, it is now considered one of the most beautiful temples from the Ptolemaic era in Egypt and is in exceptional condition. This temple is the only example in Egypt dedicated to two deities - Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility and creator of the world, and Horus, the falcon god. Later, sail towards Esna en route to Luxor and spend the night on board.

DAY 06: LUXOR – CAIRO (NILE RIVER CRUISE)

After breakfast on board, we will embark on a tour of Luxor, starting with a visit to the Temple of Luxor, which is connected to the Sanctuary of Karnak by a long triumphal avenue featuring sphinxes and obelisks. The temple entrance is adorned with scenes from the famous campaign against the Hittites, and its dimensions are enormous, with a large courtyard and a granite statue of Ramses II. Karnak, on the other hand, is a series of temples from different eras and reigns, with highlights including the Avenue of Sphinxes, the unfinished Propylon, the Hypostyle hall with its 134 giant columns, the Obelisks of Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III, the Temple of Amun, and the Holy Lake. This archaeological site has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Later in the afternoon, we will disembark from the cruise and transfer to Luxor airport for a flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, we will transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.
