ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Kochi [Check in at hotel: 1400 Hrs]Day 1: Arrive Kochi [Check in at hotel: 1400 Hrs]Arrive Kochi, the most cosmopolitan city of Kerala. Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to your hotel for 3 nights stay.

Kochi, also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, is one of the finest natural harbours in the world. Starting from the Dutch, Portuguese and the British, Kochi was the site of the first European colonial settlements in India.


Day 2: Day in Kochi

After breakfast, take a guided walk through the historic Fort Kochi area. This morning we will visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church and see the authentic Chinese fishing nets still in use.


This evening visit a contemporary yet traditional Keralan home for home hosted dinner. This is a unique opportunity to see a local Kochi house, interact and dine with the local family. The hosts would be happy to share a few of their family recipes of traditional home cooked Keralan coastal cuisine.Overnight stay at hotel

Day 3: Day in Kochi After breakfast, enjoy a morning at leisure exploring Kochi and its local markets on your own. 
This evening, watch a spectacular Kathakali performance. Kathakali is one of the oldest theatre forms in India. It is a spectacular combination of drama, dance, music and ritual. Characters with vividly painted faces and elaborate costumes re-enact stories from the Hindu epics of Mahabharata and the Ramayana.Overnight stay at hotel.


Day 4: Kochi / Periyar [150 Kms / 4.5 hrs]

After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Periyar, the spice plantation hub of Kerala. 
Upon arrival in Periyar, check in to your hotel and freshen up. Evening visit Periyar Wildlife sanctuary, one of the finest elephant reserves of south India.

Take a boat cruise on the serene Lake Periyar, spotting migratory birds and local wildlife around the lake. Overnight stay at hotel

Day 5: Day in Periyar

After breakfast, take a spice plantation tour and learn about the mystery and history of Indian spices. The spice plantations in Periyar are captivating farms growing different spices in different sections of the plantations.

You will be intrigued to see the vast variety of spices ranging from cloves, cardamom, ginger, pepper, chilli, turmeric etc.


This evening, take a cooking demonstration with the chef and learn uses of various spices in everyday cooking. The chef will be happy to share their secret recipes and give you some handy tips about South Indian cooking. Overnight stay at hotel


Day 6: Periyar / Kumarakom [120 Kms / 4 Hrs]

Today we drive to Kumarakom, the coastal town in the backwaters of Kerala.
On arrival, check-in at your hotel and freshen up. 
Evening, we see one of Asia's largest freshwater lakes spread across the land of green magic, Kerala. Vembanad Kayal, as it is called in the regional language, acts as a giant reservoir, a balancing tank against floods, and a major ecological resource, which has conditioned the flora, fauna and lifestyles of the people who live on its banks.

Its wooded banks, chirping birds, fishermen with large palm-leaf hats, and the shallow edges where women immersed upto their necks in water searching for the shy but tasty Karimeen fish, will tempt you to explore more.

The boats that ply on the Vembanad vary from the large stitched-hull, cargo carriers with domed mat-roofs to houseboats. Overnight stay at hotel

Day 7: Day in Kumarakom

After breakfast, enjoy morning at leisure in Kumarakom. This afternoon, take a cooking demonstration and learn how they prepare south Indian fish and seafood followed by a lovely seafood lunch.


This evening take a sunset motorboat cruise along the backwaters of Kumarakom. Kerala backwaters consist of a complex network of lagoons, lakes, & canals and are best experienced while slowly rowing down the labyrinth of canals, appreciating life on the banks, lush green rice fields, and coconut groves. Day 8: Kumarakom / Kochi [DEPART][Check out at hotel: 1200 Hrs]

After breakfast, take a motor boat cruise along the backwaters of Kerala to arrive at Philipkutty’s Farm, a small farm island, which was reclaimed from the backwaters (Vembanad lake) by the family that today owns and manages the farm.

The working farm owned by the family, which practices sustainable and organic methods of farming, is two metres below the lake level and has coconut, nutmeg, banana and cocoa cultivation, amongst other crop.


At the farm you will get a unique opportunity to interact with the local family, enjoy a home cooked meal served on banana leaf, learn a few tips on traditional South Indian Kerala cuisine and enjoy a tour of the family farm.

Later in the afternoon, drive to Kochi and transfer to the airport to board your flight back home.

  • In case of any significant foreign exchange fluctuations or amendment in local Government taxes, or any fuel hike, we reserve the right to adjust the tour price accordingly.
  • Incase of any cancellation, deviation or delay in journey due to weather, traffic, political conditions and / or other force majeure events, we will make alternative arrangements, with client’s approval, in the best interest of clients. If such alternative arrangements incur any extra charge, the same shall be borne by the client. The client will not be entitled to refund for any missed sightseeing resulting out of such events, which are beyond our control.
